Scientists have learned to identify depression in Facebook


Scientists from Pennsylvania have learned to identify depression from Facebook users. 683 users who previously went to doctors were analyzed. 114 of them confirmed suspicions of depression, and the rest were taken as a control group. Yes, social networks have become so much a part of our life that scientists were able to diagnose a depressive state by analyzing user activity. So, for half a year of work, the accuracy was 62%, and for 3 months – 72%.
