In New York, at Christie’s auction, they sold the painting “Portrait of Edmond Belami”, which was painted by artificial intelligence. The neural network was developed by a team of IT artists – Obvious. Initially, the product was estimated at 10 thousand dollars, but as a result, the price increased to 432.5 thousand. A machine-less learning algorithm was used, built on a combination of two neural networks, one of which generates samples and the other distinguishes correct samples from incorrect ones. Simply put: the neural network went through the options and tried to make an image by mixing a large array of sources.
