Instagram collects geolocation for advertising

Instagram has started testing a new feature called Location History. It will allow the service to collect geolocation data and transfer it to Facebook. They are planning to use this update to customize ads. this is more a desire to increase the flow of advertisers than to make life easier for users. Recall that because of the pressure from Facebook, the founders of Instagram left the company.
