Recently, the popular Telegram messenger was blocked in Russia. The fact that the matter was taken seriously is evidence of the negotiations between Roskomnadzor and American companies Google and Amazon.
Moreover, in the first case, the negotiations have already yielded results – Google has ceased to provide IP addresses to Telegram. With Amazon, the negotiation process is more complicated, as reported by representatives of Roskomnadzor, referring to the complex political relations between the countries. However, at the same time, they count on the positive result of the dialogue.
At the same time, active users of the messenger were divided in opinions: some call for current actions, such as collecting signatures for electronic petitions, others advise not to panic and to begin to wait for what will eventually result in negotiations between officials and representatives of American networks.120
